History

La Pâtisserie SIRRE, a family institution since 1935 in Brussels, embodies the artisanal excellence of bread and sweet delights. Here is a detailed portrait of this prestigious establishment:

An exceptional family heritage

Founded in 1935, the SIRRE house has succeeded, through four generations, in preserving its family soul. In 1987, Colette Sirre, granddaughter of the founder and daughter of André Sirre, took over the business, later joined in 1999 by her daughter Déborah, already active in the Jette shop (1999) and the Stockel shop (2009).

All production is centralized in a large workshop in Koekelberg, employing about 60 passionate artisans. While bread and viennoiseries are produced in Koekelberg, all three boutiques benefit from them, ensuring freshness and quality.

A generous gourmet offering

  • Traditional breads: old-fashioned baguettes, surprise breads, cramiques… crafted with care from high-quality ingredients.
  • Viennoiseries and traditional sweets: pastries, craquelins, tarts (sugar, cherry, rice-macaron), artisanal ice cream.
  • Signature creations, including the famous péché mignon: Piedmont hazelnut praline, grand cru chocolate mousse, almond biscuit.
  • Seasonal and festive creations, such as the raspberry “biscuit duchesse” Christmas log, a choreography of steps carried out by the workshop under the coordination of Alain Deprez.

Appreciated artisanal know-how

The commitment to quality is reflected in the use of top-tier raw materials, precise workmanship, and respect for tradition. The pastry team, led by chef Alain Deprez and supported by Dimitri Lallemant and Miguel Perez, combines creativity with rigor.

Quality is recognized by institutions (Tartine et Boterham, RTBF, Petit Futé…) as well as loyal customers.

Testimonials and recognition

  • RTBF / Tartine et Boterham: “Sirre is probably the largest artisanal bakery-pastry shop in Brussels…” highlighting the quality, the 24/7 workshop, the sugar tart, ice creams, and the péché mignon.
  • Petit Futé: “One of the oldest and among the best baker-pastry chefs in the city since 1935… huge selection… homemade ice cream, chocolate, macarons…”
  • Reddit: “The éclairs from Sirre (Koekelberg/Jette) are classic! So good!”

Why does Pâtisserie SIRRE captivate so many people?

  1. Authenticity: traditional recipes, family commitment, loyalty to heritage.
  2. Consistent quality: carefully selected ingredients, high-performance workshop, stable team.
  3. Variety: wide sweet-savory assortment, classic yet creatively enhanced.
  4. Local loyalty: customers attached to childhood flavors, rediscovering timeless classics.

In summary

For nearly 100 years, Pâtisserie SIRRE has embodied Brussels’ artisanal spirit: through family know-how, high-quality raw materials, and a passionate team, it offers exceptional breads, viennoiseries and pastries, blending tradition with a touch of creativity.

Its three shops welcome a loyal clientele seeking to reconnect with the simple pleasures of the past, elevated day after day.
